At The Physio Co (TPC), we believe it’s important to celebrate exercise milestones – it’s an acknowledgement of the hard work our clients and team put in, and an inspiration to others.
So, we make no apology for shouting this one from the rooftops – we’ve just had our 3000th senior client smash their exercise goal!
We have a strong focus on goal-setting here at The Physio Co; it gives each and every client something tangible to work towards, while maintaining mobility and therefore quality of life.
Our 3000th trailblazer, Sue (pictured above), achieved her goal “to continue to walk around the block as a minimum, then walk around and explore the new area in the retirement village”.
Most of us work better if we feel part of a team, and here the influence of Sue’s TPC physio, Brooke Cherubin, was invaluable.
On those days when Sue woke up and felt unmotivated – it happens to us all, whatever our age – Brooke would inspire her. As she puts it: “Once she’s (Brooke) here and we have a chat and laugh and put on some music and dance, I feel much better and ready to get out and get moving.”
Continuing improvement
‘Seniors smashing goals’ is a catchphrase for us at The Physio Co – with the emphasis on goals (plural) as we aim for continuing improvement.
Sue’s first goal was to maintain her mobility and balance so she could enjoy dancing with her grandchildren; this progressed to walking down to the river, then around the block, and now exploring her retirement village.
We’re also working towards our own goal at The Physio Co – we are aiming to help our senior clients set and achieve 2,028,000 meaningful health goals in the 10 years leading up to 31 December 2028! While we’ve still got a way to go, 3000 is a milestone worth celebrating.
The right training
One of the key factors in Sue’s success was to extend her exercise to a second session a week.
She also wanted someone with the right training. As she says: “I needed people who were educated about the human body. I have lots of issues, and I wanted someone who was properly trained, and could give me a motivation. It was important to me to find people who are flexible, not just here to run through a routine and leave.”
We put a lot of value on our clients’ feedback, and to hear Sue compliment her physio gives us all a boost. She says: “Brooke is very generous and kind, and I’m happy I can get all the benefits of working with her.”
So, let’s hear it for Sue (and Brooke) – that’s the latest of 3000 good reasons why we love what we do at The Physio Co.
