Travel broadens the mind and keeps Betty healthy!
The fascination of discovering new places makes travelling a huge attraction for many of us, even as we get older.
Case in point, Betty Wale (pictured), of Melbourne, who is determined to keep exploring and even at the age of 90 she’s always got her sights on the next trip.
Betty became a regular client of The Physio Co in 2017, after an acute case of lower back pain – now under control thanks to her hard work and the physiotherapist’s guidance and support.
As with all clients, The Physio Co tailors Betty’s exercise to her specific requirements.
The weekly sessions combine manual therapy and an exercise program to manage aches and pains, hone her balance and maintain her walking stamina so she can keep up with her tour group.
Betty knows her physio, Claire, is committed to helping her stay fit enough to travel and told her: “I have confidence in your skills to get me the results I need.”
Betty aims to take at least two tours a year, using her walker so she can fully participate in all excursions.
Betty says her goal is “to remain safe outdoors with my walker so I can go on tours and continue to travel around Australia” – and with a seasonal trip along the mighty Murray River bringing 2019 to a memorable end, she’s certainly going places.
GOAL ACHIEVED! Well done Betty!
